Membership
Membership Privileges
Each member will recieve all proper care from the Chevra Kadisha in the event of death.
Membership entitles each member to a cemetery lot with the adjacent space to be reserved for spouse, if any.
Each member has the right to participate in the Membership Meetings, to vote and to hold offices.
Each member is entitled to one vote.
Membership privileges except the right to vote or to hold office, extend to unmarried children under the age of 22.
There are 2 types of memberships:
Membership Requirements
Every Jewish person (born of a Jewish mother or a convert according to Halachic conversion) may become a member after having reached the age of 22. However, a married couple, either one of whom or both are under the age of 22, must obtain their own membership. Failure to do so shall negate all membership rights and privileges.
Membership applications are decided upon by majority vote of the Board of Directors.
A member may, by decision of the Board of Directors, be expelled if such expulsion lies in the interest of the Chevra. The same applies to a member who has become in arrears for more than two years in payment of his dues.
